The LG Sangnam Press Foundaion was established in 1995 to advance Korean journalism
and promote social and cultural development. For this, the Foundation runs various programs
aiming at promoting Korean journalists'active involvement in society and at raising their
professionalism and international sophistication.
The Foundation funds the annual SNU-LG Press Fellowship and provides financial support for
Korean journalists who receive overseas training or intensive foreign language courses.
Moreover, the Foundation helps Korean journalists cover topics of public interests in depth.
The activities of the Foundation also include publishing books on journalism, sponsoring
journalism forums, and backing LG Press Net, an internet home page for journalism and mass
media.
Furthermore, the LG Sangnam Press Foundation is open to opinions from the press, academic
circles, and other related organizations in order to develop new programs, and support
Korean journalism for its global competitiveness.
And the foundation is expanding its international activities. As a result, it will grow into
one of the world's leading press foundations in the near future.
